Grant For
UHF Mobile Radios Awarded |

The Willington Fire Department # 1
has received a grant for Assistance
to Firefighters Grant Program administered by the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security.
This was a combined effort with the Union Fire
Department. These
radios will allow us to communicate with other departments
that are switching to UHF, such as the University of
Connecticut/Storrs Fire department.
Grant For
$36,750 Awarded |
We are also fortunate to receive another grant from DHS
for $36,750 for the purpose of recruiting and training desperately needed new
members. This two-year program will provide us with advertising signs,
brochures along with medical and firefighting tuition costs.

Obtaining a Burn Permit |
Open burning permits are required for
all outside burning. For more information

This facility is operated in accordance with U.S.
